Estudio MD is an accounting and finance advisory firm in Casilda (Santa Fe, Argentina), led by public accountant Leandro Marani. It uses Fibady to give its clients' management what the ERP did not: a P&L for each business area, with its margin, updated from the books and with no spreadsheet to rebuild every month.
Who is Estudio MD?
Estudio MD handles accounting, tax and management information for companies in the south of Santa Fe province, many of them tied to farming. Beyond meeting accounting and tax obligations, it supports each client's management with the numbers they need to decide.
The problem: the data is in the ERP, but the manager cannot see it
One of its clients is a farming business with several activities. All the information was already in its ERP, but there was no quick dashboard for management. To know how much each activity earned, someone had to export the data and prepare the balance sheet and cost centre reports by hand in Excel.
It is a common situation at accounting firms. The ERP records well, but it does not explain. And every tailored report is hours not spent advising.
How does an accounting firm get a P&L by cost centre with Fibady?
- Connect the client's ERP. Fibady reads the books straight from the software. In this case an API integration was built together with the ERP vendor.
- Group cost centres into business areas. The ERP's cost centres are gathered into areas, and each area has its own P&L.
- Link each direct cost to its revenue. The gross margin of every line is then calculated automatically.
- Build custom views. One view per area, with only the rows that matter, and columns comparing the month with the previous one in amount or percentage.
- Add your own metrics. Indicators calculated from the accounts, such as the margin of a specific line, on a dashboard.
- Project. Plans and scenarios with projection rules for the coming months, built on the actual P&L.
The client works in pesos and also invoices in dollars. In Fibady it reads the same reports in either currency (dual currency), which lets it compare periods under inflation.
What changes for the firm and for its client?
The firm no longer prepares cost-centre reports by hand. The books reach Fibady from the ERP, and people at the company sign in with their own user to see their area's P&L. The time that used to go into building the spreadsheet now goes into reviewing the numbers with the client.
Who is this case for?
An accounting firm whose clients ask for more than the balance sheet, and any company with several activities that wants to know how much it earns from each. If that is you, see how Fibady works with accounting firms and fractional CFOs.
