Analytical accounts

Mis à jour le 3 septembre 2026Par Santiago Viglione

Analytical accounts are tags that classify each accounting entry by management dimensions (project, product, country, channel, customer) in addition to the accounting account. They answer not only how much was spent, but on what and for whom.

What it includes

One or more dimensions defined by the group, each with its values (for example, dimension country: Spain, Mexico, Colombia). Each entry line carries one value per dimension. Financial accounting says 10,000 was spent on advertising; analytical accounting adds that 6,000 went to product A and 4,000 to product B, all in Mexico.

Example with numbers

Marketing expense for the month: 50,000. By product dimension: A 30,000, B 20,000. By country dimension: Spain 35,000, Mexico 15,000. Crossing both: product B in Mexico cost 5,000 and invoiced 60,000, while product A in Spain cost 25,000 and invoiced 90,000. Without analytical accounts, that comparison does not exist.

How Fibady does it

The ERP's analytical dimensions are imported with every entry and can be crossed in the consolidated P&L: product by country, project by entity. Fibady supports multi-dimension analytical accounts, and drill-down reaches the entry with all its tags.

Questions fréquentes

A cost center is one specific analytical dimension: the department that spends. Analytical accounts can carry several dimensions at once: cost center, project, product, country.
